HI, I'M YANRONG JI AND I GO BY JERRY. I'M CURRENTLY A BIOINFORMATICS PHD CANDIDATE IN THE LAB OF PROF. RAMANA DAVULURI AT NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY. MY RESEARCH DEALS WITH APPLYING MACHINE LEARNING/DEEP LEARNING ALGORITHMS FOR DEVELOPING NOVEL BIOINFORMATIC TOOLS FOR STUDYING GENE REGULATION, IN PARTICULAR GENE ISOFORMS, IN DISEASES LIKE CANCER FOR PRECISION MEDICINE. Worked on tissue-based differential transcriptome profiling over aging under perturbation of influenza virus in mice; disruption of JAK-STAT signaling pathway by human Schlafen 5 (SLFN5) protein in Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) cells; and top-down proteomic studies of Senescence-Associated Secretory Phenotype (SASP) in Oncogene-induced Senescence (OIS) model

Undergraduate Researcher

Worked with Prof. Wei Xu on breast cancer, focused on regulation of ERβ activity by c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNKs) and related therapeutic uses, as well as purification of IL-13 and TSLP proteins. Also worked with Prof. Lingjun Li on mass spectrometry regarding characterization of crustacean neuropeptides, neurotoxicity of nanoparticles, and MALDI Imaging.
